Maruti Suzuki Cervo, next small car unveils soon

Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) has declared to stop the production of India’s first economy car Maruti 800 by the year 2012. The Maruti Cervo will take the place of Maruti 800 in the cheapest category. The sources revealed the price of Maruti Cervo will be somewhere around Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh (approx).

Maruti cervo is planned to give a toughest fight to Tata people’s car Nano. Although ,Maruti cervo will be little higher than Tata Nano in price but it is expected that the car will be the replacement of wagon R, Alto and Maruti 800. It is true to believe that this will be India’s next small car soon.

Maruti Suzuki Cervo will be equipped with an engine capacity of a litre. Considering the trend flowing in the Indian market, 60-65 bhp is a realistic estimate of the power that will be sent to the front wheels.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has revealed its January Month sales for the year 2010 on Februry 1st 2010 via press release. The company has sold a total of 95,649 vehicles in January 2010. This includes 14,562 units of exports. This is the highest ever domestic as well as total sales for the company.

The company had sold 67,005 vehicles in the domestic market in January 2009.

Fiat to venture in SUV territory, plans new models for India

After its successive break up with Tata Motors, Fiat India plans to launch its cars in newer segments to gather more of the Indian market share. It will also focus on its B and C segments where the Grande Punto and Linea are popular. Fiat keeps in mind the demand for bigger cars in India and plans to go into the sports utility vehicles (SUVs) arena. The Fiat 500 L (compact 5- / 7-seater SUV) and Fiat Qubo (5-seater multi-purpose vehicle or MPV) could very well make it into the Indian market. Enrico Atanasio, head-commercial Fiat India, believes that an Indian-specific Fiat product is quite possible as it brings with it more choice to customers in a competitive market. The Italian auto major is also optimistic about boosting market share to 1-1.5 percent within 36 months from the present 0.7 percent.

Soon, cars with wireless Internet connection

American automobile manufacturer Chrysler has plans to equip its cars with a system that will enable people to surf the Internet while driving. The UConnect Web system is what the company says can bring wireless Internet access to cars' dashboards. Frank Klegon, the company's vice-president, says that they wants to gain a reputation for high-tech cars. "In today's market, Chrysler's mission is to bring innovation to market more quickly," Wired News quoted Klegon as saying. Officials at the company have revealed that UConnect Web uses cellular and WiFi technology to provide "instant access" to the internet. According to them, anyone in the car will be able to check e-mail, download music, play games and even upload photos from an SD card directly to Flickr.
